Here's a short video I found today on dubstepforum.com documenting some of the more popular electronic music in city areas of California, more specifically LA and San Francisco. It focuses mostly on the kinda glitch bass (?) stuff out now ala flying lotus to the more dubstep defined genres. Mary Anne Hobbs's presence is strongly felt in the video, the film makers likely took advantage of her drop in not too long ago. It's great to see this genre thriving and evolving with the US and it not just being a UK dominated thing (drum and bass, jungle); and as the video explains,the west coast definitely created a feel all their own. I could only hope other cities evolve and merge with the music in the same ways. As for the midwest,Chicago has gotten me pretty excited lately. Anyone that was at Smartbar for Caspa's show last month knows what I mean...
